Pain – almost unbearable pain – seems intimately tied to each pulse of life’s cardiogram. Hands appear, attempting to ease the suffering, to help the other within the limits of what is possible. From this tension emerges birth: water becomes a symbol of purification, innocence, and renewal. The child, passed from hand to hand like a Christ-like figure, is welcomed through a collective gesture that celebrates the arrival of life.

Restoration of Artavazd Pelechian’s films launched by Coproduction Office in partnership with Cineteca di Bologna under the director’s supervision. Best available elements selected by the director and scanned in 4K at the Public Television Company of Armenia. Restoration and color grading carried out by L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory.
