The film portrays selfless workers who, day after day, ensure that trains can pass through the treacherous mountain gorges of Armenia, even in the harshest weather. Men and their horses laboriously make their way through the snow, confronting biting cold, steep inclines, and sheer exhaustion. Beyond documenting a high-altitude mission, the film meditates on the rhythm of repeated gestures, the power of collective effort, and the silent, enduring struggle between humanity and the natural world.
Restoration of Artavazd Pelechian’s films launched by Coproduction Office in partnership with Cineteca di Bologna under the director’s supervision.
