In an unspecified rural region, a man is convinced by a woman from the city to murder his own wife. He takes her on a boat trip to drown her, but backs down at the last moment. Terrified, she flees to the metropolis, while her husband looks for her in search of forgiveness.
The new 4K restoration of “Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans” was made by the San Francisco Film Preserve in conjunction with the British Film Institute, Cinémathèque Royale de Belgique, Eye Filmmuseum, The Museum of Modern Art, Národní Filmový Archiv, Prague, and George Eastman Museum. The project was supported by Sunrise Foundation for Education and the Arts.
