Years after leaving Naples behind, Antonio has built a successful life in Milan, far from his mother Angela – an irresistible, old-fashioned woman, excessive in every way and fiercely antagonistic. When she arrives for Christmas seemingly intending never to leave, Christmas Eve dinner becomes an emotional battlefield, both comic and savage, exposing years of resentment and misunderstanding. A stubborn capon that refuses to be cooked, a daughter whose arrival remains uncertain, and an unexpected guest turn the evening into a decisive reckoning between mother and son, one that will transform their relationship forever. Their love burns like an inner fire – one that never goes out, not even after separation. Based on the novel “Il Fuoco che ti Porti Dentro” by Antonio Franchini. Presented at the Venice Film Festival.
