

Nasceu em Nápoles, Itália, em 1978. Formou-se em direção pelo Centro SperimentaBorn in Naples, Italy, in 1978. He graduated in directing from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, in Rome, and made his feature debut with “Mozzarella Stories” (2011), presented at the 35th Mostra. He then directed “Perez.” (2014), presented out of competition at the Venice Film Festival, “Indivisible” (2016), winner of the Pasinetti Award for best film in the Venice Days section at Venice and of six David di Donatello awards, and “The Vice of Hope” (2018), winner of the audience award at the Rome Film Fest and of the best director award at the Tokyo International Film Festival. For television and streaming, he adapted plays by Eduardo De Filippo and directed the series “The Lying Life of Adults” (2023), based on Elena Ferrante’s novel. “Comandante” (2023, 47th Mostra) opened the competition at the Venice Film Festival. He also directed the opera “Tosca”, at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, in 2020.
