In the late 1980s, the Estonian flag is still forbidden, but the country is already experiencing the beginning of a movement that will lead to the restoration of its independence. 17-year-old Mihkel embarks on a journey with his heavy metal band to perform at the most important music festival of their lives. His friend and rival Hendrik, whose band has just broken up, joins the group to impress the foreign producers invited to the event. With the new lineup, the tour begins. Amidst promises to respect Mihkel’s leadership, Hendrik brings along his new girlfriend, Liisa — the protagonist’s secret crush. Charged with excess, the journey picks up momentum as the young heroes race through the absurd circumstances of a crumbling empire, in a wild road trip that puts their friendships, loves, and ambitions to the test. Inspired by the novel of the same name by Mihkel Raud.
