Eleven-year-old Marcos bears the scars left by his biological father and a deep-seated fear of adoption. The only adult able to break through his defenses is Arnaldo, an autistic man who gradually earns his trust and becomes his closest companion. But when the prospect of a new family looms, the pair decides to run away to Arnaldo’s childhood home. Amidst the Cerrado, a place where nature dictates the rhythm of life, their journey becomes a reckoning with the past as they rediscover the strength of courage, family, and the right to belong.
