In a Nepalese village surrounded by a forest where wild elephants constantly threaten the residents, Pirati leads a family of trans women bound together by affection and survival. Respected within her Kinnar community, she secretly maintains a forbidden relationship with the Drum Master, dreaming of leaving everything behind to build a different life. But when Apsara, the youngest member of the group, disappears during a nighttime vigil against the elephants, Pirati is accused of neglecting her family in pursuit of her personal desires. Consumed by guilt and pressured by the village’s hostility and the distrust within her own household, she sets out on a search that will force her to choose between love and responsibility, while confronting the limits of belonging imposed on those who live on the margins of society. Winner of the Jury Prize in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
