After escaping the Colônia psychiatric hospital and attacking her tormentor, Juraci, to secure her freedom, young Elisa returns to the farm and traumatizes her father, Júlio, by grazing him with a gunshot. Nurse Juraci did not die and, after recovering, he goes after Elisa, accusing her of attempted murder. At the farm, Elisa attempts to flee but is captured by Juraci and two DOPS agents – the dictatorship’s repressive force –, following a long manhunt. Suspecting her son might still be alive, Elisa surrenders to return to the Colônia. Her mother, Antonieta, accompanied by her son Oswaldo, sets out to find her but faces numerous difficulties upon arriving in Barbacena. Wanda collaborates with Marta, a journalist investigating the events at the Colônia, while the nurse Laura continues striving to improve the lives of the inmates. A new and violent confrontation, which will change everyone’s destiny, concludes the journey of Elisa and all the characters in Colônia.
