

He began working in the film industry in 1991 and served as an assistant director on several films, including Bernardo Bertolucci’s “Stealing Beauty” (1995). He studied film at New York University and directed the short films “Poor for a Day” (1998), “Does Man Fly?” (2001), “De Glauber para Jirges” (2005), and “14 Bis” (2006), all screened at the Mostra. His first feature was the documentary “Time of Resistance” (2004, 28th Mostra), followed by the narrative films “My Country” (2011), “The Other Side of Paradise” (2014, 38th Mostra), and “Quietness” (2018, 42nd Mostra). His first foray into directing series was with “Colônia”, which premiered its first season in 2021 and spawned the film “Nobody Leaves Alive” (2023). He also directed the series “Teenage Kiss: The Future Is Dead” (2023-).
