In Portugal, near Sintra, a crew is shooting “The Survivors”, a remake of Allan Dwan’s American B-movie classic “The Most Dangerous Man Alive”. When the film stock and the money run out, the producer disappears, and the crew enters a state of waiting. The director, Friedrich Munro, decides to leave for Los Angeles in search of him, a journey that leads him to confront the creative process, the financial pressures of the industry, and the clash between art and commerce. Winner of the Golden Lion at the 1982 Venice Film Festival.

4K restoration.

Paulo Branco receives the Leon Cakoff Prize at this 50th Mostra.
