50ª mostra > filmes > Let Us Be
An intimate portrait of intersex people — those born with sex characteristics that do not fit typical definitions of male or female — in India, Brazil and the USA. Through personal stories, the film reveals the ongoing struggle for human rights in the face of non-consensual surgeries performed on intersex children, while also questioning the rigid binaries that shape our understanding of sex and gender. “Let Us Be” proposes a reflection on autonomy, dignity, and the beauty of human diversity.
