The Yanomami shaman Davi Kopenawa, one of Brazil’s leading Indigenous voices, faces the threat of large mining companies arriving in his territory in the Amazon. The film follows him on a journey to Minas Gerais, in the southeast of the country, where he encounters the scars left by the collapse of the Córrego do Feijão mining dam. Moving between the physical and spiritual realms, he encounters the maxita watimapë, the “earth eaters”, and reunites with his longtime friend, Ailton Krenak. Together, they connect two territories deeply scarred by extractivism and reveal another way of relating with the Earth.
