50ª mostra > filmes > Di Cavalcanti
Di was the first Brazilian artist to truly “see” the real face of Brazil! Strangely, he spent his life courageously showing this to us! His perception was so overwhelming that, starting with the “spark” of the creation of the first Modern Art Week in Brazil in 1922, it reaches all Brazilian homes in the 60s and 70s! That wasn’t enough! Di reaches the world! There wasn’t a Brazilian home, from the humblest to the richest, that didn’t have, in the dining room or the living room, a painting by Di Cavalcanti! The heart beat fast... his works continue to be sold at an unprecedented speed! His creation, his freedom, his exaggerations, and his sufferings turned into paintings! Pleasures and wisdom are the masters that led Di to know all the pains and all the glories! Di is, in fact, Brazilian!
