50ª mostra > filmes > Atcha Atcha
Set at the École des Sables in Senegal, Atcha Atcha follows dancers from various African countries as they undergo an intensive training program under the guidance of legendary choreographer Germaine Acogny. In this pan- African space of cultural transmission, the dancers’ bodies embody memory, identity, and the collective imagination. A distant and barely perceptible transformation of the surrounding landscape suggests that this may be one of the last glimpses of the school in its current state— idyllic yet fragile. Presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
