50ª mostra > filmes > Amadeo and the Hypothetical New World
Amadeo is a sensitive and brilliant young African man who invents the photographic camera before the Europeans. Everything about his invention would be easier and more wonderful if it hadn’t happened during the 19th century in Brazil – the last country in the Americas to abolish slavery. Disguised to avoid becoming enslaved, Amadeo uses his invention to aid the liberation revolution of the Black people on the plantation of a powerful Baron, who is also the father of Linda, an idealistic young woman passionate about science and art, and for whom Amadeo harbors a forbidden love. To soothe the ache of this love, he dedicates himself even more to inventing the photographic camera.
