After the death of her grandmother, Ana, a young Black Franco-Brazilian woman, finds herself adrift in the city where she was born and has always lived, increasingly isolating herself in her own grief. Following clues left by her grandmother, she travels to Belo Horizonte and there finds Alice living in her grandmother’s old apartment. In deciphering the affective cartography of the city and the ancestral memories and connections that traverse them and are traversed by them, Ana and Alice will unravel what it means to become who they are.
