Combining live-action, animation, and puppetry, the film follows Marco, a ten-year-old boy sold by his own parents to work in a circus. What could have marked the end of his childhood becomes the start of an extraordinary journey. Through encounters, losses, and discoveries, Marco learns to transform abandonment into affection, pain into courage, and loneliness into hope.
