A young pastor goes through a harsh winter in a small Texas town, where his mission to help the homeless faces resistance from his own congregation, revealing deep-seated prejudices and systemic failures. Inspired by true events, “Down the Arm of God” draws on real-life interviews and firsthand accounts of people who have survived on the streets. The film is the product of years of direct collaboration with this community, whose members participated not only as characters, but as partners and storytellers who helped shape the work with their own experiences. Presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
