Mateo is a veterinarian in a small Mexican town. Since the death of his son, his life unfolds through silent routines and a guilt that remains unnamed. The violence of the region does not erupt; it lingers, latent, like a constant echo. This fragile balance is disrupted when Mateo is forced to save Morro, the wounded dog of a local crime boss. Through the animal’s daily care, an unexpected bond emerges – a relationship without judgment or words that returns him, if only slightly, to a sense of presence. In an environment where everything seems to be negotiated through force, that intimate gesture takes on a different weight: caring for another becomes the most radical act of all. Presented at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
