“Chico Buarque, Reimagined” brings together artists from different generations and musical backgrounds to celebrate the work of Chico Buarque. Across 13 episodes, new voices revisit songs that have spanned decades, creating interpretations that reveal new possibilities for music that has become part of Brazil’s collective memory. Dora Morelenbaum performs “Samba e Amor”; Gaby Amarantos, “O que será”; Péricles, “Eu te amo”; and Zeca Veloso and Cristóvão Bastos, “Todo Sentimento”. The project also features Duda Beat, Don L, Agnes Nunes, LanLanh, Laísa, Zé Ibarra, Jaloo, Flor, Catto, Juçara Marçal, Zé Manoel, Lula Galvão, Pretinho da Serrinha, Clarice Falcão, and Clara and Ceci Buarque. Through rehearsals, conversations, and recording sessions, the series delves into the creative process behind each reinterpretation and explores what happens when Chico Buarque’s work encounters the artists and Brazil of today.
