

Born in Brasília, Brazil, in 1980. She graduated in film from the University of California, in Santa Barbara. Among her works as a filmmaker are the short film “Capoeira, Freedom of the Soul” (2002) and the documentary feature films “O Coco, a Roda, o Pnêu e o Farol” (2007) and “Francisco Brennand” (2012), film about her grand-uncle which won the best Brazilian documentary award at the 36th Mostra. She also made the documentary TV series “Apartamento 302” (2016). Her fiction feature debut, “Manas” (2024), won the Best Director Award at the Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival and the Critics’ Award for Best Brazilian Film at the 48th Mostra.
