In 1854, José Augusto falls in love with the beautiful Fanny Owen, to the dismay of Camilo, a poet and the young woman’s confidant. A victim of the young man’s seduction, Fanny eventually gives in and decides to run away with him. However, a suspicion arises in José Augusto’s mind, putting the relationship at risk. An adaptation of the novel “Fanny Owen” by Portuguese writer Agustina Bessa-Luís.
