A tapestry of characters grappling with the realities of addiction. James and Dina are recovering addicts expecting their first child and trying to build a stable life together, but James carries a secret that threatens their recovery just as the future begins to feel possible. Across town, Sam and Manny, young lovers and active users, scrape by on weekly settlement checks from an old lawsuit. When that money suddenly dries up, desperation pushes them toward a risky scheme that spirals beyond their control. Akil, a dedicated street outreach worker, spends his days supporting the addicted and unhoused, doing whatever he can to keep them alive long enough to find another chance. Yet for all the lives he helps, he can’t find a way to reach the person who matters most: his brother, Sean. Meanwhile Harley, a teenage street kid, drifts through the margins of the neighborhood, bouncing between unreliable father figures and fleeting moments of belonging. As their stories intertwine, these characters confront hard truths, form unlikely bonds, and search for redemption. Winner of the best U.S. narrative feature and best cinematography awards at the Tribeca Film Festival.
