Layal is a Lebanese-born professor whose troubled teenage son Daniel is expelled from high school, prompting her to embark on a road trip across the United States with him, escorting him from Indiana to California, where he will live with his estranged father. As they travel westward, the two encounter a series of unlikely people and places that reveal the fractures and growing bonds between them. Presented at the Sundance Film Festival.
