

He is a Syrian-American filmmaker based in New York. He grew up in Beirut, Lebanon and over the years has worked as a cook, baker, journalist, musician and film editor. He studied creative writing and music at Indiana University, and received his MFA from NYU Graduate Film. His short film, “The Trees” (2021), won the International Special Jury Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. He was a Sundance Fellow in 2022, 2023 and 2024. “Hot Water” is his debut feature film.
