50ª mostra > filmes > The Girl with the Leica
Paris, July 14, 1937. Together with Robert Capa and the close friends with whom she escaped Nazi Germany, Gerda Taro spends her final day in Paris before returning to the Spanish front. As past and present intertwine, the defining moments of her life resurface: her political activism in Leipzig alongside her first love, her years of exile in Paris, her whirlwind romance with Capa, her discovery of photography, and her growing determination to use her Leica as a tool for resistance and freedom. A portrait of the first female photojournalist to die on the battlefield, a woman who embodied an era when everything still seemed possible. Presented at the Venice Film Festival.
