Polish filmmaker who began his career directing award-winning documentaries before moving into narrative features with “Last Resort” (2000) and “My Summer of Love” (2004, 29th Mostra), both BAFTA- winning films. His film “Ida” (2013) won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Feature, and “Cold War” (2018, 42nd Mostra) received the best direction award at the Cannes Film Festival and three Academy Award nominations, including Best Director.
