

Kyrgyz director and writer, she graduated in Film from the University of Westminster. Inspired by hearing her grandfather recite the “Epic of Manas”, she pursued a career in filmmaking. Her short film “Blue Gate” (2024) won awards at film festivals in Japan and Kyrgyzstan and was presented at the Raindance Film Festival and the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival. Her work explores themes of memory, belonging, inheritance, and the search for connection. “Skylark” is her first feature film.
