

Born in Tabriz, Iran, in 1975, Nader Saeivar is a writer and director currently based in Berlin. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Tehran and teaches cinema at various institutions. Alongside Jafar Panahi, he co-wrote “3 Faces” (2018, 42nd Mostra), which won the Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and “It Was Just an Accident” (2025, 49th Mostra), winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He directed feature films like “The Alien” (2019), presented at the Berlin International Film Festival; “No End” (2022), screened at the Karlovy Vary and Busan film festivals; and “The Witness” (2024, 48th Mostra), winner of the Audience Award in the Horizons Extra section at the Venice Film Festival.
