Born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1975, he is a director, editor, actor, and musician. After studying anthropology, he turned to cinema, working as an editor with João César Monteiro, Miguel Gomes, and Alessandro Comodin. He is also a composer and musician, and is part of the musical collectives The Secret Museum of Mankind and Mulheres com Varandas. He directed short films such as “Bird of Prey” (2006) and “Song of Love and Health” (2009), and the features “The Sword and the Rose” (2010, 34th Mostra), presented at the Venice Film Festival; “John From” (2015), which premiered at the 39th Mostra; and “Technoboss” (2019, 43rd Mostra), presented at the Locarno Film Festival.
