The Swedish retrospective containing Ingrid Bergman’s first few movies gets lost at customs and is found only a couple of days before the end of the event. Public Choice Award: “A Song for Beko”, by Nizamettin Arih (Germany/Armenia), the first Kurdistanian film, a nation not yet on the map. Critics Award: “Abraham Valley”, by Manoel de Oliveira (Portugal). Tomie Ohtake creates once again the poster’s artwork.
