A 3D VR adaptation of “Contre Jour”, the long-standing collaboration between musician and visual artist Lee Ranaldo, co-founder of Sonic Youth, and multimedia artist Leah Singer. The project immerses the viewer in a performance shaped by sound, light, shadows, and the suspended guitar that has become one of the defining elements of Ranaldo and Singer’s work. More than a simple documentation of a live performance, the film presents an intimate relationship with the sonic and visual landscape that the two artists have developed over more than three decades of artistic exploration, blurring the boundaries between concert, installation, and film.
