The Walker arrives in San Sebastián, a landscape of luminous beauty. A strip of reddish-ochre slowly winds its way through the forests and along the edge where wind meets sea, between the noise of the night and the stillness of the day. With measured steps, he passes before the eyes of many: a serene figure in the vastness of the world, leaving a fleeting imprint on the memories of strangers. The past and the present merge into one another. Both creation and nature dissolve into dust. The film is the eleventh in Tsai Ming-liang’s “Walker” series, which began in 2012. Presented at the Venice Film Festival.
