Tom, 4 years old, Susan, 8, and Derek, 10, visit their grandfather for the first time since losing their beloved grandmother. They find the house quiet and their grandfather distant. Taking inspiration from her grandmother, the family’s storyteller, Susan steps into that role, creating enchanting tales to bring the warmth back: a helpful mysterious cat, a not-so-scary monster, a daring flying man. As the family bonds through their tales, they learn about bravery, kindness and finding light even in life’s darkest moments.
