A Turkish filmmaker, she made her feature directorial debut with “The Trace” (1994). Her second feature, “Journey to the Sun” (1999), received an Honorable Mention from the International Jury at the 23rd Mostra. She also directed “Waiting for the Clouds” (2005, 29th Mostra), winner of the Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award, “Pandora’s Box” (2008, 32nd Mostra), awarded Best Film at the San Sebastián Film Festival, “Araf / Somewhere in Between” (2012, 36th Mostra), and “Clair Obscur” (2016).
