A Belgian-Romanian director born in Bucharest. Her debut feature film, the documentary “Waiting for August” (2014), was presented at the 38th Mostra and awarded at the Karlovy Vary and Visions du Réel film festivals. She then directed the fiction feature films “La Civil” (2021), co- produced by the Dardenne brothers and Cristian Mungiu, and awarded in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival; and “Traffic” (2024), winner of the Grand Prix at the Warsaw Film Festival and selected as Romania’s submission for the Academy Awards.
