A director, screenwriter, producer, and editor born in Uruguay and based in Mexico. His first feature film, “The Zone” (2007), presented at the 31st Mostra, won the Best Debut Film award at the Venice Film Festival. “The Desert Within” (2008), his second feature, was part of the 32nd Mostra and closed the Critics’ Week screenings at the Cannes Film Festival. He then directed a segment of the film “Revolución” (2010), presented at the 34th Mostra, and the features “The Delay” (2012, 36th Mostra), awarded in Berlin, as well as “A Monster with a Thousand Heads” (2015) and “The Other Tom” (2021, 45th Mostra), both presented at the Venice Film Festival. Rodrigo Plá is also a film professor.
