Pegah Ahangarani

A filmmaker and actress born in Iran in 1984, currently living in London. She began her acting career at the age of seven in “The Singer Cat” (1991), by Kambuzia Partovi. Following her first leading role in “The Girl in the Sneakers” (1999), by Rasoul Sadrameli, she has acted in more than 40 films, including “Shirin” (2008, 34th Mostra), by Abbas Kiarostami, and “The Locust” (2022, 46th Mostra), by Faezeh Azizkhani. Alongside her acting, she developed her work in documentary cinema and directed the short films “I Am Trying to Remember” (2021), “My Father” (2023), and “As I Lay Dying” (2025), screened and awarded at major international festivals such as Hot Docs, Busan, and IDFA. Ahangarani also directed the documentaries “Child Soldier” (2024) and “Taraneh” (2025), both for BBC World. “Rehearsals for a Revolution” is her first feature film.
