Born in Texas, USA, Patrick Wang is the son of Taiwanese immigrants. He directed the feature films “In the Family” (2011), presented at the 36th Mostra and nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature; “The Grief of Others” (2015), presented at the Cannes Film Festival; and the diptych “A Bread Factory” (2018), divided into “Part One: For the Sake of Gold” and “Part Two: Walk with Me a While”. He is also a poetry translator and photography curator.
