

Born in Tokyo in 1989, Mees Peijnenburg is a Dutch director based in London. He studied at the European Film College in Denmark and graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2013. He directed the short films “Even Cowboys Get to Cry” (2013) and “A Hole in My Heart” (2015), both presented at the Berlin International Film Festival. He was selected for the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation Résidence, where he wrote his first feature film, “Paradise Drifters” (2020), presented at the Berlin and Rotterdam film festivals. He has served on multiple film festival juries. “A Family” is his second feature film.
