

Matteo Norzi is an artist, writer, filmmaker, and Indigenous rights activist, born in Italy and based in New York. His directorial debut, the feature film “Icaros: A Vision” (2016), was presented at the Tribeca Film Festival and marked his first major collaboration with the Shipibo People. Norzi is also the co-founder and executive director of the Shipibo Conibo Center, a nonprofit organization that has contributed to the international recognition of artists such as Sara Flores and Celia Vásquez Yui. “The Hummingbird Paints Fragrant Songs” (2026), co- directed with Èlia Gasull Balada, is his second feature film.
