Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Marie-Elsa graduated in directing from the Cinema Department of Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) and earned a master’s degree in screenwriting from the Institut Supérieur des Arts (INSAS), in Belgium. She directed short films like “Vas-y Je t’Aime” (2009), screened at the Locarno Film Festival, and “You Can’t Do Everything at Once, But You Can Leave Everything at Once” (2013), which premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. Alongside her work as a director, Marie-Elsa teaches film and is a co-founder of the Terrain Vague collective, which brings together young filmmakers from French-speaking Switzerland. “Silent Rebellion” is her debut feature film.
