Mariano Llinás

Born in Buenos Aires in 1975, Mariano Llinás is a director and screenwriter. In 2003, he founded the group El Pampero Cine with Alejo Moguillansky, Agustín Mendilaharzu and Laura Citarella. He directed, among others, “Balnearios” (2002), presented at the Rotterdam Film Festival; “Extraordinary Stories” (2008), awarded at BAFICI; and the longest film in the history of Argentine cinema, “La Flor” (2018), lasting nearly 14 hours and screened at several festivals, such as Locarno, Toronto and Rotterdam. Among his later films are: “La Saga de Ignacio Corsini” (so far consisting of “Corsini interpreta a Blomberg y Maciel”, 2021, and “Popular tradición de esta tierra”, 2024); “Saga de los Mártires Unitarios” (only one film so far, “Concierto para la batalla de El Tala”, 2021); “Tríptico de Mondongo” (2024, consisting of “El equilibrista”, “Retrato de Mondongo” and “Kunst der Farbe”); and “Clorindo Testa” (2022). Llinás also co-wrote films like “The Summit” (2017, 41st Mostra) and “Argentina, 1985” (2022), both directed by Santiago Mitre.
