

Kristina Mikhailova is a director, producer, and artist from Kazakhstan. Her artistic practice extends beyond film, including her participation in the collective video art piece “Don’t Miss the Cue”, presented at the Uzbekistan National Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale. As an activist, she founded Women Make Docs, a grassroots initiative supporting female documentary filmmakers in Central Asia. She is a partner, alongside Dana Sabitova, at the production company 24 FPS, based in Almaty. She directed the short film “Algiz” (2021). “River Dreams” is her debut feature.
