

Kogonada is a Korean-American filmmaker. He gained public recognition through a series of video essays about filmmakers such as Ozu, Kubrick, Fellini, and Bergman. His feature debut, “Columbus” (2017), was screened at several festivals, including Sundance, Toronto, Rotterdam, and Mar del Plata, and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. He then directed the feature films “After Yang” (2021), screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, and “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” (2025). In television, he directed series such as “Pachinko” (2022-2024) and “Star Wars: The Acolyte” (2024).
