Born in London in 1965. After graduating from college with an emphasis in theatre design from Nottingham Trent University, he began his career  directing theatre and making film and television trailers. Since the mid- 1990s he has made numerous music videos for artists like Radiohead,  Massive Attack, Blur, Jamiroquai and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. As well as art installations and short films, Jonathan has created many advertisement campaigns. He has directed the feature films “Sexy Beast” (2000), “Birth” (2004), “Under the Skin” (2013), and “The Zone of Interest” (2023, 47th Mostra), winner of the Grand Prix and the Critics’ Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as the Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film.
