Writer and filmmaker born in Rio de Janeiro. With works translated into eight languages and published in twelve countries, he won the National Library’s Machado de Assis Prize in 2017 and was a two-time finalist for the Jabuti Award. The author of six published books, spanning fiction and chronicles, he has been a columnist for outlets such as O Globo, Folha de S.Paulo, and The Intercept. As a screenwriter, he has written for networks including TV Globo, Arte 1, and HBO. He made his feature directorial debut with “The Death of J.P. Cuenca” (2015), screened at the 39th Mostra and at festivals such as CPH:DOX and BAFICI. The documentary “144 - Apocalypse Not” is his second feature film.
