

Enock Carvalho is a director, screenwriter, and producer from Pernambuco who began his artistic career as a film critic and journalist before transitioning to filmmaking. Matheus Farias is a Brazilian editor, director, screenwriter, and producer based in Recife. As an editor, he collaborated with filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho on films including “The Secret Agent” (2025, 49th Mostra), for which he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and received the best editing prize at the Havana Film Festival. For over ten years, Enock and Matheus have collaborated and made the short films “Room for Rent” (2016), “The King Crab” (2019), “Unliveable” (2020), which screened at the Sundance Film Festival, and “Burning Inside” (2024). With “The Riverbank”, the two filmmakers make their feature film directorial debut.
