

Born in Latvia in 1972, Edmunds Jansons is an animator, director, children’s book illustrator, and founder of the animation studio Atom Art. He studied at the Latvian Academy of Culture, holds a master’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Arts, and completed his doctorate at the Art Academy of Latvia. He directed the animated documentary “Little Bird’s Diary” (2007) and short films such as “Isle of Seals” (2014), presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, “Guard of Honour” (2021), and “Freeride in C” (2024). He made his feature directorial debut with “Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs” (2019). “Born in the Jungle” is his second feature film.
